The capital of Denmark, Copenhagen is the political, cultural, historical and artistic centre of the country. Its main tourist area is around Nyhavn where one could find the old University surrounded by an array of cafes. Worth visiting are also the many castles and museums, the galleries and the local zoo, not to mention the symbol of Copenhagen, the Little Mermaid. A popular jazz destination, Copenhagen hosts a traditional jazz festival during the summer.
